For several years, Trucks For Change Network has supported Food Banks Canada’s After the Bell program, both by taking part in the always fun Packing Day and by helping move food packs to communities across the country.
This year, after the bags were packed and the boxes sealed, our team began moving them from Mississauga to communities all across Canada.
We reached out to transportation companies across Canada to help deliver After the Bell food packs in their regions and to local food banks. Some carriers handled large shipments, while others managed smaller deliveries close to home. Together, they turned a national program into local support for children and families.
In 2026, the After the Bell program packed and distributed over 220,000 nutritious food packs to more than 215 communities across Canada. This program supports children and families during the summer, when school meal and snack programs are on break.
Through the Trucks For Change network, partner carriers helped move more than 100,000 food packs, representing 363 pallets and over 212,000 pounds of freight delivered to food banks and community organizations in multiple provinces and territories.
A lot of coordination made these results possible. Some shipments went through distribution centres before reaching local food banks. Planning routes, delivery details, timing, and carrier availability all had to align to get the food packs to their destinations.
This is the strength of the Trucks For Change network. When a program like After the Bell needs to reach communities across a country as large as Canada, transportation matters. The carriers below made this possible.
